Tarns Hood first came onto Poetry in Motion's radar in 2015 becoming a regular on our open mic. She's since charged ahead and has twice placed at our Wellington Regional Poetry Slam finals (winning in 2019) and each time represented Wellington at the New Zealand National Poetry slam, placing 2nd in 2017. She's a regular at our monthly shows and was the feature performer at our first event in 2020.
Poetry in Motion regularly get asked to recommend performance poets for one-off events and festivals and Tarns is always near the top of our list. She is a prolific poet, with a large repertoire or performance pieces varying in topic and tone and is a joy to hear. She is always a strong stage presence and fierce performer and we're always happy to recommend her.’
